Modular BC can help play an important role in helping British Columbia move to a reduced carbon, renewable energy modular manufacturing future.

Modular BC with Government and industry  partners will focus on increasing BC Modular manufacturing, grow the industry, create manufacturing jobs, provide affordable housing to all areas of the province and be a leader in developing carbon neutral manufacturing of homes.

Other benefits would be Job creation in all parts of British Columbia through increased investment in Modular Plants. Consistent, long-term well paying factory positions in affordable communities across BC.

The consolidation of labour and most building materials at the factory, usually within 150 km of the building site, results in reduced car/truck traffic, noise, pollution and quality of life impacts, all in a shorter construction time frame than in areas where site construction of new homes and other buildings occur.

Manufacturing facilities purchase large qualities of lumber and other building materials, much of which is ordered to exact fit requirement, there-by reducing waste. Waste that does occur is 50-70% less than when  building on site and can readily be recycled or disposed of properly.

Through the use of energy efficient products by way of Renewables , Factory built homes boast affordable and low cost-to-operate options that are carbon neutral.

This BC innovation is a proven method to save energy, increase neighborhood friendly density, decrease greenhouse gas, while continuing the affordability cycle in home operations for families and seniors. This sets the Province on the global stage as a leader in construction innovation and continues to build a greener B.C.
